WHEW! Hello! Remember me?

Hi all:

So sorry that I have been missing for the past few months but many things have happened since last time I reported to you.  I had meant to post about the happenings of the ALA Annual Meeting but …

So, the day after I got back from Annual Meeting, I interviewed for a new job.  2 weeks later, I was offered said job… three weeks later I started said job! 😉  And I’ve been moving ever since.  Although I loved my job as Lead Librarian for Desk Services at Appalachian State, I accepted a position as Dean of Library Services at Chattanooga State Community College.  It’s a great opportunity and I’m surrounded by wonderful colleagues.  They have been patient and kind as they have helped me with this whirlwind transition.

Hopefully now, with my feet under me some, I can begin to keep you informed about what’s happening at ALA and those specifically NMRT issues.  I’ll plan to publish a brief late, late report on Annual and will look forward to posting updates from Midwinter.  I think I’m going to try to post on the blog almost in real time at Midwinter so that you can get up-to-date information as it happens from the council floor.

Thank you for your patience and for trusting me to represent NMRT at ALA Council!  Looking forward to year 2 of my service to NMRT.
